1. Click on the Apple menu at the top-left corner of the screen. Then select Control Panels, and then select PPP.

• Make sure a dot is next to Registered User.
• Name: Your dial-up login name should be preceded by a preceded by a capital P. So if your login name is joe, you would type in Pjoe.
• A check-mark next to Save password is optional
• Number: Your local access number should be obtained from our web page Select the state and key in the phone number from which you will be dialing. As a precaution, you'll want to check with your local telephone services provider to insure that this is a local call for you.
  

2. Now click the Options button in the lower part of the window.

3. Under the Redialing tab at the top:

• Redial: Redial main number only
• Redial 5 times
• Time between retries: 5 seconds

4. Now click on the Connection tab at the top. Only

• Connect automatically when starting TCP/IP applications, and
• Flash icon in menu bar while connected should be check-marked.

5. Click on the Protocol tab at the top.

• Modem Compression and
• TCP header compression should NOT be checked

6. After all necessary changes have been made, click OK. That will take you back to your desktop.
